Duo Cam Board v0.2 - Signed [Limited Edition]

Overview

The Duo Cam Board allows you to use a standard 15p1 MIPI CSI 2 dual-lane camera with an OV5647 sensor, such as the Waveshare Raspberry Pi Camera (B) (adjustable focus) or Makerfabs 5MP SBC Camera (fixed focus), with your Milk-V Duo, Duo 256 and Duo S.

Other sensors may work, however, the Duo SDK does not include configurations for many. Duo Buildroot SDK (version 1) includes `camera-test.sh` which can test connectivity easily by providing an RTSP stream. SDK version 2 has not been tested.

This board uses a high-speed bi-directional voltage-level translator (TXS0104ED) for the I2C circuit, with 1.8V on the A-side and 3.3V on the B-side and there are no diodes in the design. This means that it may also work to use a Milk-V Duo Cam with any other SBC, but that is yet to be tested.

These working prototypes, dubbed v0.2, were only made once and thus will be signed. The pricing is slightly higher than the final product price that is intended to be approximately $9 USD, as this has covered a portion of the R&D costs. If there is enough interest, a larger production order will be placed for the next version with the intent to get the unit price down to $5 each.

Version 1 will be released in the coming months incorporating any and all feedback, optimising the design, and of course at that lower price point.
